Newsletter Name Winner!

As part of our inaugural monthly newsletter last month we asked for your help in choosing a name.  Well, the results are in, and the winner is “Worldwide News!”  We’re so thankful for your participation and look forward to sharing the news of God’s victories from across the world with you on a monthly basis.

That Time of Year

It’s graduation season, and we want to show you some special Emmaus Worldwide graduations happening all around the world.

2024 International Graduations

We are so excited to see God’s global family coming to know Christ as they study Emmaus Worldwide courses, and seeing them grow in their faith. Many organizations around the world hold graduations when students complete 12, 24, or 36 Emmaus courses to celebrate their growth and continued biblical education!

These graduations come at a tremendous cost to those who are studying.  Some of the people featured here had to travel for hours to reach their graduation celebration.  Some walked for miles, and some worked and saved for their graduation certificate.  One of these celebrations was held in the poorest country in the world.  One was held in the richest.  Some of our students have total freedom to study, and others are not permitted to have Bibles or build churches outside of a designated city block.  Yet all throughout, we see believers passionate about Jesus and wanting to know more about Him.

Two of our special graduates in Colombia finished all 97 courses offered in Spanish this year.  We are humbled by their dedication, and wish them the very best as they take this knowledge forward to serve the Lord.

That’s what graduations are all about.  Yes, we celebrate what has been learned, but we also rejoice to see these graduates going forward to become leaders in their churches, evangelists, teachers, and faithful servants of God in many ministries around the world.

Staff Graduations

As we honor our graduates, we think of two of our own staff who are “graduating” this year to their next roles in ministry. Jim Fleming has served as our international coordinator for 21 years.  He has connected, inspired, and encouraged ministry workers around the globe as a part of Emmaus Worldwide,

and he is preparing to do that in a different way for CMML.  Jim has also been a faithful student of the courses, sharing and teaching God’s Word to countless people. As we celebrate his graduation, we are thankful that the Lord used him here for so many years, and our prayers go with him as he continues to serve the Lord.

Al Stoltz has faithfully served our prison coordinators as our head of the Prison Ministry and warehouse manager for 24 years.  He has navigated the challenges of lockdowns, mailing restrictions and countless policy changes to continue to serve the neediest souls in our country.  He has also served in the warehouse, braving the ancient elevator to ship hundreds of thousands of books. As he goes on to serve in schools and sports fields, we pray that God continues to use him to encourage and build up those around him.

Another Kind of Graduate

We received this letter from an inmate named Tracy, who, after taking Emmaus courses, was able to graduate from Southwestern Baptist Theological seminary while still incarcerated. He wrote this letter as he was about to be transferred to another facility “as a field minister, to help change prison culture and most of all to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.”  He says this:

As Tracy puts his studies to work, we are blessed to read that he is sharing the good news of Christ wherever he goes.
